Medical Staff Services is a Service of Medicine for Africa

.... it is a Service dedicated to attract physicians and other medical personnel for serving in an African country for a predetermined period of time. Of course, we will always appreciate anyone who will be willing to contribute to our services on a voluntary basis.
However, Medicine for Africa intends to secure financing for all offered positions, as we plan to remunerate you for your time and efforts. While the salary level offered may not be entirely comparable to the levels you are familiar with in your home country, it certainly will be well above the level that is common to the African country of your choice. Thus, you will not only gain unique experiences and the assurance that your engagement will be well appreciated in your host country, you will also be fairly reimbursed. Many hospitals will also be able to issue an internationally accepted Certificate of Attendance crediting your time and experience to your practical training (Residency) in certain medical specialties.

All medically trained, licensed and registered people who are interested in participating are welcome. The only prerequisite is that you are able and willing to train other students or young professionals in your areas of expertise. Of course, you will have to be fairly fluent in English in both colloquial and medical speech. Furthermore, French as an additional language will be very welcome, or as your only foreign language, it will also be acceptable as there are a number of French-speaking countries in Africa. Your individual wishes will always take precedence and your personal qualities will be thoroughly considered before deciding on an appropriate place for your engagement.

If you are interested - we will take care of all necessary papers.
As soon as you have been accepted as a candidate by our Service, we will offer you a list of potential places that will suit your wishes, expectations and previous ecperience as closely as possible. Then, you decide where you would prefer to serve. We will help you with any necessary visa, registration or vaccination requirements. Of course, we will pay for your flight, and we will arrange for your being picked up at the airport of your destination and be driven to your hospital and/or place of living. We will assure that your salary will be paid on time, either in cash in local currency or transferred in US dollars to your private account (after deduction of any local taxes and other deductions, if required).
We work together with other international organizations which pursue similar goals, in order to offer you the best possible position. Even if other collaborating organizations accept only volunteers, if you are accepted and represented by us, you will be guaranteed a salary for your services.

Physicians / Dentists:

Physicians of nearly all specialties as well as dentists are in great demand. Your individual level of training will be considered and acceptable in almost all cases - whether you are a senior Resident with just a few years of professional training or an Attending physician with many years of experience searching for a new challenge, or a retired private practice physician or Chief of Service - we can offer you a new, interesting, useful and highly appreciated task. Traditional (African / Chinese) Medicine-Practitioners:

If you are a practitioner of Traditional African and/ or Chinese Medicine and / or Homeopathy with corresponding certifications and experience, especially in the area of infectious diseases, you are very welcome to apply. Traditional Homeopathic Medicine is taught in many African Universities / Medical Schools, in order to teach future physicians the existing alternatives to "modern" medicine that are often pursued by the local population. Many patients consult a local village-based "Medical Practitioner" prior to seeking help at the nearest hospital or health care service. Medical Assitants /Physician Assistants with experience in nearly all medical specialties are especially welcome to apply for a position. We can offer a position in a medical department that badly needs your services - be it in a hospital or other health care institution. Well trained laboratory technicians and radiology technicans, in particular, are needed badly.
